Feedback Strategies
I read Be a Mirror: Give Readers Feedback that Fosters a Growth Mindset and I also read The Difference Between Praise and Feedback. I agree with both articles in that people should praise the process instead of a personality trait. I do catch myself giving feedback with the same phrases that the second article said not to use. I typically begin my feedback comments with "I think..." or "I like that...." when I should focus more on the person I am giving feedback to. I need to learn to take out my feelings and emotions. I don't feel confident giving people useful feedback because I'm afraid to come off as rude so I normally try to find something to compliment. I need to work on giving useful feedback.
Feedback Matters: Leahy's
It was fun to read your post, for I read two different articles. I like what you took away from those two articles. I also find myself using the phrases "I think" or "I like when..." when I am providing feedback or advice, and need to change that. Thank you for enlightening me and sharing your thoughts on these articles!
