Famous Last Words: The struggle of being sick

The readings were wonderful this week! I really liked all of the stories from Twenty-Two Goblins. The riddles proposed by the goblin were so thought provoking and I was curious to how any of them could be answered. I had time to do both portions and the bonus reading as well. I had to rush when writing the story this week because I became really sick after going to the state fair so the story is not as detailed as I would like it to be. I did not have time to relax and take a deep breath when writing; I had to just force words onto the page. I loved all of the portfolio stories that I read as well as the storybook introductions. Most of them left me in awe and I wanted more because they were all so interesting. It also gave me more ideas on how I want to design my portfolio. My other classes are a bit overwhelming. I feel like I am getting buried in workload and I fell more and more behind this week because I could not concentrate on anything while being sick. I also have had to host a lot of events for the clubs I am an officer of so I haven’t had time to sleep either to heal. I hope to get ahead for next week and not fall behind again because I hated having to do things right before the deadline. I am the kind of person that likes to work way ahead but I have not had the chance to work ahead for anything because I have constantly been two steps behind. I hope to survive next week because I have a quiz almost every day next week and multiple tests the week after with multiple essays and lab reports due as well.

  1. I hope you feel better soon, Rosa! And about this class: you can totally just take next week off! You have done so much extra credit, and that means you are way ahead on points. So, you can just put this class on the back burner all next week, and the week after that too if you want (you are a full two weeks ahead thanks to all the extra credit). So, instead of doing 6 hours of work for this class next week, you can get 6 more hours of sleep! And sleeping is usually the best thing to help get well soon. :-)

  2. Hi Rosa! I was in the same boat as you last weekend. I think there is some bug going around...or just too many tests at once if you get sick when you're stressed like I do!
I know what you mean when you say that other classes make it hard to write for this one. I get so stressed sometimes and know that my work can be better, but some weeks there just isn't time for me to put out my best work. At least you are so ahead! I am working to do the same because I finally made it passed my sickness and crazy exams and don't want to be pressing to meet deadlines again!
    Hope you feel better!
